appstory.tv – Your Videoguide on Apps
appstory.tv, the video guide for Smartphone applications, launches today. appstory.tv helps to find the best apps for the iPhone and the new Apple iPad: The 2-minute video clips are presented by Kira Song, Richard Gutjahr and Michael Reuter. They introduce the best apps available on the market and they name the pros and cons of each app.

Apples iPhone made a beginning – followed by BlackBerry, Palm and Google’s Nexus: Smart phones are replacing cell phones. With smartphones you can do a lot more than phone calls, send emails or text messages. You can surf the web, book flights, receive weather forecasts and send the latest photos taken with your built-in camera to social networks like Facebook or Twitter. In short, mobile phones are turning into ubiquitous, intelligent mini-computers.

A smart phone is only as smart as the programs that are installed on it – the applications, in short: “apps”. In the Apple iTunes Appstore there are currently over 140,000 apps – from categories education to economy. Most of the apps will be offered free of charge – for about 30 percent of all apps an average of 0,99 US-Cent (in Europe 2,50 Euro) per download is charged. Very high on the list of most popular apps are for example navigation software solutions – they can cost about 199 US-Dollars (or 99 Euros).

Which app is worth buying? Which app from the same category is better than the other? appstory.tv shows how an app works and makes it easy to understand. At the end of each video clip the viewer will receive a clear recommendation. The goal is to save the user from buying the wrong app.

Heute startet der englischprache Videoführer appstory.tv. Der Internetdienst versteht sich als “Video Guide” durch die Vielfalt aktueller Smartphone Apps: in 2-minütigen kurzen Videos stellen Kira Song, Richard Gutjahr und Michael Reuter die besten Apps vor, nennen Vor- und Nachteile und sprechen Empfehlungen aus.

Das iPhone von Apple machte den Anfang, es folgten Blackberry, Palm Pre und Googles Nexus: Smartphones lösen Handys ab. Smartphones beherrschen viel mehr als nur Telefonie , email-Versand und SMS: Mit ihnen bucht man Flüge, checkt die Wettervorhersage und verschickt Partyfotos an seine Freunde in Sozialen Netzwerken. Kurzum: Handys werden zu unentbehrlichen, intelligenten Mini-Computern.

Ein Smartphone ist nur so smart, wie die Programme, die darauf installiert sind – die Applikationen oder kurz: Apps. Allein im iTunes Appstore von Apple gibt es bereits über 140.000 Apps, aus Kategorien von Bildung bis Wirtschaft. Der Großteil der Apps wird kostenlos angeboten – für etwa 30 Prozent aller Apps muss pro Download durchschnittlich 2,50 Euro bezahlt werden. Ganz weit oben in der Liste der beliebtesten Apps rangieren etwa Navigationslösungen, die bis zu 99 Euro kosten können.
